Hi, I’m Ben and I own and operate Rocky Mountain Films
I’ve been a professional videographer since 2017 and specialized in weddings since 2019. In that time I’ve filmed almost 200 weddings and loved every moment of it. I enjoy taking a couple from first contact to delivery of their completed work all on my own, and of course the flexibility that comes with working as a small business.
When I’m not running the business, filming or editing, you’ll find me at home with my family, usually working on some part of the house because I also built my house and safe to say it’s a never-ending journey! (see “Ridgy Didge Ranch” on YouTube)
I grew up in Australia and go back every year, mostly to hang onto the accent. Before coming to the US I worked as an airplane pilot and hold a bachelors degree in Physics. Really that just means I’m pretty good on the drone and I’m far too interested in the inner workings of my camera!

About Rocky Mountain Films
Rocky Mountain Films is based in Salida, Colorado most of the year and was established in 2019. Being in the ‘Heart of the Rockies’, we happily travel throughout Colorado regularly, New South Wales in March and April and occasionally further by request.
Ben’s focus on the day is to capture things as organically as possible and to avoid posing or acting. You might call it more documentary in nature. High quality audio is hugely important, and will play a major role in expressing the emotions of the day throughout the film. When it comes to editing, our films are put together in a way that will age well and not have trendiness turn into ‘cringeyness’ down the road. The priority is crisp imagery and audio with a logical flow through the events.
